Report Cards Grades 1 and 2

Report Card for Grades 1 and 2 Princeton Charter School's quarterly report cards and interim reports (half-way through the quarter) were designed to meet the PCS Charter’s promise of “timely and complete communication with parents about their child's progress.”.

The report cards consist of three segments:

  • At the top is a summary section giving the student's and teacher's names, the subject, the marking period number, data, and an overall grade for the subject and for the effort the student made.
  • Name: Grade:
    Marking period: Date:
    Absent: Late:
    Teacher:
  • The next segment breaks down the student's progress into subject areas and learning skills with specific skills for each area. The subject areas are: phonemic awareness, reading and writing, mathematics, science, history and geography. The learning skill areas are: listening and speaking, social and personal growth, work and study habits. The specific skills for each area are listed below.
  • The final section is a comment area, where each teacher gives a two-to-five-sentence comment for the parents of the student.
Although these report cards take a little more time than a simple check-list report card, the school community, students, teachers, and parents, benefit from gaining a more complete picture of a student’s progress.
Each student is given one of the following indicators for each of the areas below: 4 - above grade level
3 - meets grade level standards
2 - approaching grade level
