Remember: Always check a book out before taking it from the library.
Choosing a book
Can I check this book out?
Any book with catalog numbers or letters on its spine may be checked out except books marked REF which are not to be removed from the library, and any book missing its check-out card may not be taken. Please place such books in the Book Return area. If you leave a note with your name on it in the pocket, the book will be reserved for you once the problem is fixed.
To check out a book:
1) Find the check-out card in the pocket (usually in the back of the book).
2) Write your name, your grade, and the date on the card.
3) Put the completed check-out card in the front of the right section of the wooden check-out box. A library volunteer will file the card by author later.
4) Take a green date-due card from the front of the left section of the wooden check-out box and put in the pocket of the book.
To return a book:
1) Place the book carefully in a Book-Return box.
2) A library volunteer will take the green card out, find the check-out card, cross your name off , and reshelve the book.
